Planning a Bespoke Kitchen or Renovation? Here’s What to Tell Us About Your Project

Starting a home renovation or planning a bespoke kitchen can feel exciting, but also slightly overwhelming.

You might have saved hundreds of inspiration images, spoken to an architect, or perhaps you’re still at the stage of wondering where to begin. Either way, one of the questions we’re often asked is:

“What information do you need from us to get started?”

The short answer is: as much or as little as you have.

Whether you’re planning a bespoke kitchen in Harrogate, fitted cabinetry in York, or a full home renovation in North Yorkshire, every project starts with a conversation.

You don’t need everything figured out

One of the biggest misconceptions people have is that they need to arrive with fully formed plans.

In reality, many clients come to us with a rough idea of how they want their home to feel, a Pinterest board full of inspiration, or simply a frustration that their current space no longer works for family life.

You don’t need all the answers.

What’s helpful is understanding how you live, what isn’t working, and what you want the space to do better.

That might mean:

  • A kitchen that feels more social and connected to family life

  • Better storage that helps the house feel calmer and less cluttered

  • Bespoke cabinetry that feels considered and timeless

  • Practical joinery designed around everyday living

Sometimes the smallest details tell us the most.

Share your plans, ideas and timeline

If you already have architectural drawings, interior design plans or inspiration images, these are incredibly useful at the early stages.

The more context we have, the more helpful we can be from the outset.

When getting in touch, it’s helpful to include:

  • Your location

  • What type of project you’re planning

  • Your rough timeline

  • Any plans or drawings you already have

  • Inspiration images or styles you’re drawn to

  • Anything that feels important to daily life in the space

For example, are you a family that gathers around the kitchen island every evening? Do you need practical storage for muddy dogs and school bags? Are you renovating a period property and want cabinetry that feels in keeping with the home?

These details help shape a space that feels naturally part of everyday life.

Working with architects and interior designers

Already working with an architect or interior designer? That’s absolutely fine.

We regularly collaborate on projects across Harrogate, Leeds, York and the wider Yorkshire area, working closely with homeowners and design teams to ensure cabinetry feels cohesive, practical and beautifully made.

Being involved early in the process often means we can help think through layout, proportions and practical considerations before decisions become harder to change later.

What happens after you enquire?

Once you get in touch, we’ll arrange an initial conversation to talk through your plans, priorities and where you are in the process.

From there, we’ll advise on the best next steps for your project, whether you’re at the early planning stage or ready to move forward.

Because every home and renovation is different, the process is always shaped around what works best for the project.
