Harrogate Contemporary Family Extension

This project involved a full extension and internal reconfiguration of a family home in Harrogate, creating a generous open-plan kitchen, dining and living space designed around the realities of modern family life.

Working alongside the builder from the early stages of the renovation, bespoke cabinetry was designed, crafted and installed throughout the home, including the kitchen, utility room, fitted storage and wardrobes. The brief was to create spaces that felt calm, practical and connected, balancing everyday functionality with a timeless architectural feel.

At the centre of the project is a bespoke kitchen designed as both a social hub and a hardworking family space. A large central island anchors the room, creating space for cooking, gathering and day-to-day living, while carefully integrated storage keeps the overall feel clean and uncluttered.
Darker cabinetry paired with warm timber flooring introduces contrast and depth to the interiors, helping the open-plan layout feel grounded and inviting while maintaining a refined, understated aesthetic throughout.

Alongside the main living space, a bespoke utility room and additional fitted storage were designed to support the practical demands of family life without compromising the overall design. Elsewhere in the home, built-in wardrobes and tailored cabinetry continue the same considered approach, creating consistency in both detailing and functionality across every room.

The result is a thoughtfully designed family home that feels spacious, cohesive and easy to live in, with bespoke joinery carefully integrated throughout to support modern living both practically and visually.
